In this chapter, Dracula has been discovered within the asylum and it puts everyone on edge. Renfield was attacked by the Count, and told how he has visited the home more than once. Also, he told of how he has been draining Mina of her blood. I don't understand how the men hadn't noticed anything wrong with her. Dr. Van Helsing and Dr. Seward were both there when it happened to Lucy, so why wouldn't they notice it with Mina? Mina was alwasy a cheerful lady and full of life. You would think that when she started turning plae they would notice it, but they didn't..

Excellent thought. Can it be answered by looking at some of the fundamental differences between Lucy and Mina?
